Last Journey

An unplanned ocean voyage with promises of bliss
No point of destination
No sailing into sunsets, for sunset is no more
Fathomless, unchartered, no places to explore
No night to follow day, no blame to overtake the joy
No death, just transmutation.
The cage will decompose allowing long-imagined flight
And plunging into waters that will take her ever nearer
To fruitful landscapes shining on the flip side of the veil
To unrestricted shores
To days of heavenly delight, assuredly in store
A wedding feast, the happy bride, entering the nuptial bower
Discards the heavy garment, meets her long-awaited mate
Severed never more.
