Science Cannot Choose

Science cannot choose between
What’s wrong and what is right
Values, having no component parts, defy precise review.
Choices based on basic feelings
Like the sanctity of life
Are generally reputed, then often times disputed
In the struggle for survival
In the throes of war and strife.
To reason, to reflect, our unique capacities, are
Spiritual in nature, but in need of world-wide protocol
If not, those mighty powers
Could deceive us intellectually
Essential is the universal teacher
Unequivocal.
